ASH - YEAR 2
Welcome to Year 2!
Year 2 is an exciting time to learn, as we focus on moving their skills forward from Early Years into Key Stage 1. A smooth transition is taken account of during this stage. Continuous provision, play-based independent challenges, is regarded as an important and a necessary role in children’s development and is intertwined with the National Curriculum in Year 1. This means that the children have time to embed skills as they enquire, investigate, create, adapt and problem-solve, through activities set up in their play. Throughout the year we aim to inspire the children by making learning fun and creative. We work on firing up their imagination as they face appearances and letters from guests like Paddington Bear and other characters, who help to take their learning deeper. Alongside this, the children take their learning journey outside of the school by going on educating school trips! I guess you could say that Year 1 tries in every way possible to give the children the correct tools to take their learning forward into the upcoming years.
