RE and World Views and Beliefs

At South Molton United Church of England Primary school, we have an enquiry led approach to Religious Education and World Views and Beliefs. Children are encouraged to explore what different people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, so that they can gain the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to handle questions raised by religion and worldviews, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living. During their time at school, pupils learn about core beliefs in Christianity, Islam and Judaism as well as learning about Hinduism. Children also learn about some Humanist beliefs. They also explore moral questions and what different worldviews have to say about these.
